Developing a prosperous mind-set

Good to know that their are people viewing my blog. Continue to support me k… give me some feedback to improve

Today as i was sitting on the bus, i read a story that i think i could share with u.

Years ago, there was a poor man who wanted to travel from US to Europe. He worked hard, saved every extra penny he could, and finally had just enough to purchase a ticket aboard a cruise ship. the trip at that time required about two or three weeks to cross the ocean. He went out and bought a suitcase and filled it full of cheese and crackers. That’s all he could afford.

Once on board, all the other passengers went to the large, ornate dinning room to eat their gourment meals. Meanwhile, the poor man would go over in the corner and eat his cheese and crackers. This went on day after day. He could smell the delicious food being served in the dining room. He heard the other passengers speak of it in glowing terms as they rubbed their bellies and complained about how full they were, and how they would have to go on a diet after the trip. The poor traveler wanted to join the other guests in the dinning room, but he had no extra money. Sometimes he’d lie awake at night dreaming of the sumptuous meals the other guests described.

Towards the end of the trip, another man came up to him and said,” Sir, i can’t help but notice that you are always over there eating those cheese and crackers at mealtimes. Why don’t you come into the banquet hall and eat with us?”

The traveler’s face flushed with embarrassment. “well, to tell you the truth, i had only enough money to buy the ticket. i don’t have any extra money to purchase fancy meals.”

The other passenger raised his eyebrows in surprise. He shook his head and said, “Sir, don’t you realise the meals are included in the price of the ticket? your meals have already being paid for!”

When i first saw that story, it reminds me not to eat more cheese and crackers. How many people are similar to that naive traveler. They are missing out on God’s best for them because they don’t realise that the good things in life have already been paid for.

Everytime we shrink back and say, “Well, i can’t do it; i don’t have what it takes, ” we’re eating more cheese and crackers. Everytime we go around full of fear, worry, anxiety, or are uptight about something, we’re eating more cheese and crackers. So stop eating cheese and cracker. Start living with faith that goods things will happen to you. All the Best!!

A spider web story to share with you all

May 18, 2007

A young soldier found himself in a terrible battle during the Scottish Reformation. [I cannot remember the soldier's name or the exact date of the battle. I think it took place sometime between 1200 and 1400 AD.] The enemy was soundly defeating this young man’s army. He and his comrades found themselves hastily retreating from the battle field in defeat, running away in fear of their very lives. The enemy gave chase. This young man ran hard and fast, full of fear and desperation, soon found himself cut off from his comrades in arms. He eventually came upon a rocky ledge containing a cave. knowing the enemy was close behind, and that he was exhausted from the chase, chose to hide there.

After he crawled in, he fell to his face in the darkness, desperately crying to God to save him and protect him from his enemies. He also made a bargain with God, one which I (and perhaps you too?) have made before.
He promised that if God saved him, he would serve Him for the remainder of his days. When he looked up from his despairing plea for help, he saw a spider beginning to weave its web at the entrance to the cave. As he watched the delicate threads being slowly drawn across the mouth of the cave, the young soldier pondered its irony. He thought, “I asked God for protection and deliverance, and he sent me a spider instead. How can a spider save me?”

His heart was hardened, knowing the enemy would soon discover his hiding place and kill him. And soon he did hear the sound of his enemies, who were now scouring the area looking for those in hiding. One soldier with a gun slowly walked up to the cave’s entrance. As the young man crouched in the darkness, hoping to surprise the enemy in a last-minute desperate
attempt to save his own life, he felt his heart pounding wildly out of control.

As the enemy cautiously moved forward to enter the cave, he came upon the spider’s web, which by now was completely strung across the opening. He backed away and called out to a comrade, “There can’t be anyone in here. They would have had to break this spider’s web to enter the cave. Let’s move on.”

Years later, this young man, who made good his promise by becoming a
preacher and evangelist, wrote about that ordeal. What he observed has
stood by me in times of trouble, especially during those times when
everything seemed impossible. He wrote: “Where God is, a spider’s web
is as a stone wall. Where God is not, a stone wall is as a spider’s web.”

Back again

May 4, 2007

yesterday, was a normal day for me and something bad happen to me and it turn good after that. I thank God for always around me, turning all the bad things to good. I know it is you Jesus!!!

Early in the morning as i was going back to camp (national service), my bag strip broke as i was running and i could not carry anymore around me body. I am not worried, and i know God will help. So i carried in my hand with another hand carrying the laptop unto the bus. As the bus was crowded i have to stand beside the driver.

after a while, i found that the driver was finding something in her wallet. i am not sure what is she finding, but i thought to myself:” Why don’t you concentrate on driving and find the things later.” Suddenly she offered to help me fix my bag. I was shocked to realise that she has taken out two safety pin, willing to help me fix my bag. Thanks God. if it was not her, i don’t know how i am going to carry my bag to meet my business partner after work. I also realise that there are still caring people around in the world, which is something i am please to know…

Other incident happen at night. after i decided to leave the auditorium to rush to another place to teach tuition. i forget to bring my laptop case (with laptop inside) out. As i was walking along the corridor, i suddenly thought:” Since i was early and not many people in the bookshop, i can go and check what happen to the disc that i bought sometime ago.” When i played the disc from my laptop, the is picture, but no sound. So i when to check, but it is ok at the bookshop. To avoid embrassment, i remarked:” i think because the computer i use to play the disc is not compartable to the programme inside the disc.” Because of this remark, i remembered that i leave my bag inside the auditorium and quickly go back to get it. If not for god, i would have to go back and get it even if i found out when i reach home.

Always Thank God that if something good or bad happen to you. Because he can turn bad situation around. Don’t think that you are lucky when something happen to you and complain to God when something bad happen to you. If that’s the case then you will live in misery all the time.
